Now that I’ve used the Chicco Cortina Travel System-Discovery, I feel I can give it a better review.
So, we have the Chicco. I really, really had my heart set on getting the Baby Jogger City Elite, but it wasn’t recommended for babies until over a month old…we had a preemie…and a lack of funds (and gift cards for Babies R Us)…so, we had to go with practicality and pick something out from Babies R Us. I also decided to get the jogging stroller when we have kid #2 (we want to have the kids close in age). It just makes more sense.
I did my research, perusing through the different types of strollers, reading reviews, the whole thing. And everything pointed toward the Chicco Cortina.
My husband and I went and tried them out, trying to get a feel. We both really liked the Discovery. Let me just say that pictures really don’t do it justice. Pictures make the green parts of the stroller look like mud, when it reality it’s a really bright, fun color green.
Pros of the Chicco Cortina Travel System:
- attractive and contemporary. I love the green coloring.
- relatively easy to put together
- EASY to fold and un-fold. I can do it with one hand.
- compact for a travel system. I have to fit it in my Altima…and I can fit it AND my stepson’s scooter. I’d say that’s pretty good.
- easy to steer
- smoothe ride (I take the baby for lots of walks)
- so far pretty durable
- good consumer ratings
- cheaper than a lot of fancy shmancy brands and just as effective
Cons of the Chicco Cortina Travel System:
- when the carseat is on the stroller, I can’t access the storage basket. This is kind of annoying. However, I can easily put my bag around the handles of the stroller, which is what I do.
- I can’t attest to this…but some people complain that the stroller doesn’t sit upright enough for their toddlers. I’ll have to see about that.
Here is my butterball in his ride…
